Place a pitchfork flat garden shovel or shingle scraper under the shingle. At some point in the lifetime of your roof your roofing contractor may inform you that your roof needs to be replaced. The last course at the top may need to be rip cut if the roof is not in 4 foot increments. The nails in the shingle should come up with the shingle when you pry it off.

Begin applying the sheets from the bottom of the roof the eaves and work your way up to the ridge. When this is required and in order to meet code we must re sheet the roofing deck prior to installing any roofing material. When doing a roof replacement project there s a chance that your contractors will propose to remove the existing roofing material and re sheet it with plywood. Remove all of the shingles on the roof.
