Revit Flat Roof With Parapet

The perimeter of the roof assembly insulation is wrapped to prevent interstitial airflow from the parapet into the multilayered rigid insulation of the field of the roof.

From the contextual menu choose select all instances visible in view to select all of the interior walls. Create a sloped roof with an overhang. Offset the top by 1 9 or 500mm if your metric when you then create your roof choosing the internal core of the walls it will sit below the top of the external wall. On the draw panel click pick walls.

If the parapet is not high enough increase the offset from the top level. On the contextual tab of the ribbon select attach and then select the flat roof. On the options bar for overhang enter 600 and select defines slope. Where the roof slopes toward a parapet at a slope greater than two units vertical in 12 units horizontal 16 7 percent slope the parapet shall extend to the same height as any portion of the roof within a fire separation distance where protection of wall openings is required but in no case shall the height be less than 30 inches 762 mm.

This option turns off the roof slope extrusion for the line. To correct this we will attach the walls to the roof. Select finish roof on the create roof footprint ribbon. Get this revit file here.

Select the lines of the roof outline and right click over the line. 2008 04 01 01 05 pm 3. The second option in the list is toggle slope defining. Click architecture tab roof drop down roof by footprint.

Select toggle slope defining for each line of the roof outline. The cure for parapetitus is continuity of the control layers and letting things move when they have to move.

Is there a way to make a parapet slope with the roof other than cutting the wall profile. Open the 02 lower parapet floor plan. Max baker and stonewall jackson would be proud.
